Konj Café in Edinburgh was recently reviewed in The Times, with Chitra Ramaswamy describing it as a “home from home” serving “food cooked with love” including “exceptionally smoky and bright” mirza ghasemi.
Owned by Faranak Habibi, who was born and raised in Sanandaj, Konj Café is an authentic Iranian eatery that celebrates Iran’s rich culinary heritage. She previously worked as an aircraft controller in London before realising her lifelong dream of opening a traditional café in December 2019.
Konj serves dishes including savoury wraps and stews as well as salads and sides, and baked goods such as pastries and sweets. Konj relocated to Grindlay Street, next to the Lyceum, in December 2024.
